How to shop correctly

Did you know that when we are hungry, we are not only motivated to buy more high-calorie and unhealthy foods, but also other things that we do not need at all? Don´t let your stomach fool you and refresh yourself with at least a glass of juice or a small meal before visiting the store.

Better to buy more often and in smaller quantities. Plan your menu for 3 days in advance and take into account the contents of your refrigerator, pantry or bread box. Make a shopping list of what you need to buy. To really only buy what´s on your list, don´t shop hungry and shop by weight.

Distinguish between date of minimum durability and expiration date

Expiration date

Expiration date, „Use by" refers to fresh food that is subject to rapid spoilage from a microbiological point of view and can therefore pose an immediate health hazard in a short period of time. However, we recommend smelling and tasting the food the day after consumption before throwing it away.

Date of minimum durability

Date of minimum durability, „best before“, indicates the approximate date until which the food will retain its expected quality. With proper storage, food consumption after this date is still safe for several weeks to months. (According to ASS laboratory tests).

Healthy fridge

You should keep the refrigerator clean, do not overfill it and keep the temperature in it from 1 to 5°C. In general, the temperature is highest in the door and upper parts of the refrigerator.
